Melissa is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) in the State of Nebraska. She graduated from Wayne State College with a Master of Science in Education.

Melissa’s primary focus for treatment is Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities with an emphasis on Autism Spectrum Disorders. She has extensive knowledge in the field of Development Disabilities and has spent the last twenty years working directly with this population. Melissa has spent time as mental health case manager for the county as well as in a front line supervisory role for a group home which both lend to the development of a well-rounded understanding of the local supportive systems.

Melissa takes a person-centered approach to help tailor services to the unique needs and capabilities of each individual based on their needs and capabilities. She focuses on combining various therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution Focused therapy, and Mindful-Based techniques to help find what fits best for each client based on their current presenting problems, reported needs, as well as an ongoing evaluation of client wishes and desires for treatment. Melissa recently completed the certification program through University of Nebraska Kearney to assist in additional work for treating addictions through their Licensed Drug and Alcohol Program.
